Oh, so that’s why you were asking!
I read this thread way back when, but I didn’t think of it either - it’s just not something that crops up often. Let us know if that fixes it, yeah?

I am still waiting for my new battery to arrive. I had it sent to a friend from Miami who will be bringing it to me in a week or two. Shipping was delayed because of Wilma, hope it arrives there on time. I will post back if and when I have tested it.
Had your computer been losing time? I thought that losing time was the main symptom of a dying BIOS battery? Why did you ask about the battery in that previous thread?
Are BIOS batteries rechargeable?
If so: Robcaro, are you unplugging your PC after you turn it off; or do you have it plugged into a power strip, etc., that you turn off or unplug?
I seem to be missing something here. Something about the problem/solution theorized here doesn’t make a lot of sense to me.
robcaro: My BIOS battery is 6½ years old
He’s replacing the Bios battery and is waiting for delivery. The problem could be a Bios that is messing up due to the battery dying. Dying batteries retain a charge for a short period from the powered up system, hence a long shut down period and that half minute of restored charge will dissipate. It could easily be something else too. He’ll be back when the battery is replaced.
Good news! Battery has been replaced and I no longer have the problem. Has been bunning for more than a month now with no more problems. Thanks a lot for all of your advice.
