Driving pet peeves!

Appropriately enough, as I was reading this thread, guess what I heard from outside where the Interstate is?

screeeeeeEEECH-thud

Sigh. :frowning:

(There’s a down-hill on-ramp there that gets its own lane on the Interstate, and after a few hundred feet, that lane becomes an exit-only for the next exit. There’s not much visibility for those going down-hill (on the ramp) to see what traffic on the Interstate is doing, until they hit the flat stretch. However, there’s plenty of space and time to switch lanes.)

Which leads to one of my pet peeves - drivers who panic for no apparent and/or sane reason. Oh no, the lane is ending (and signage warns of this in plenty of time) - PANIC! Oh no, the highway splits four miles ahead - PANIC! Then they proceed to drive like their car has magically transformed into a chicken with its head cut off.

It gets worse when it touches off a chain reaction of panic. A bunch of cars darting around like headless chickens, and everyone else going WTF trying to avoid causing a bigger mess. Grrr.
