I plan to drive from Gardena to Riverside–60 miles–on Monday, June 20. I have found that part of the 91 Freeway in Orange County is an “express” highway with toll lanes, but according to the Auto Club not all the lanes are toll lanes. Is it difficult to avoid the toll lanes? (I am driving from the west end of the freeway, in Gardena in Los Angeles County, to downtown Riverside; going to the courthouse.)
I live right next to Gardena and travel that same route frequently. You have to make an effort to get on the toll road otherwise you will stay on the regular 91. I have never taken the toll road. Traffic going that direction in the morning is heavy but not hellish. After 9 am you will fly straight through.
Thanks…I never thought of that.
Where the toll lanes are, its around 12 lanes wide, and the centre 2 or 4 are are toll.
