Driving through Santa Fe tomorrow. Dinner recommendations?

I’m driving tomorrow from Albuquerque through Santa Fe, then north off into the wilderness. I’ll be in Santa Fe around dinner time and figured I’d be better off stopping there than elsewhere. If anyone has has a recommendation that isn’t too far out of my way, please post!

I should add I’m looking at maybe $30-40, sans beverages.

I liked The Atomic Grillwhen I was last in Santa Fe. Decent vegetarian options when we were there, if that’s important to you.
Cafe Pasqual’s is supposed to be great, and may fall under your price requirements. Both are right in/near Downtown Santa Fe.

Cheap is fine, too. Thanks!

Tomasita’s on Guadalupe at the train depot - best NM food in Santa Fe. Not as touristy as the places in the plaza and very reasonably priced (and VERY good food).

I second Cafe Pasqual’s, given your stated price range.

Blue Corn Cafe is a brewery that has pretty good food.

If your price range were a bit higher, I’d recommend Coyote Cafe .

Another vote for Tomasita’s. Excellent food.

I’ve eaten at the Blue Corn Cafe. I had the Carne Adovada, and it was absolute bliss.

The Adovada sauce is made with Hatch chiles. If you are gonna eat in Santa Fe, you MUST have Hatch chiles!

You want us to opine on a restaurant in Santa Fe?

Are there financial gains involved?

sings Let’s open up a resturuant in Santa Fe…

Thanks everyone. I’m going to skip the brewery and save it for a time when I can safely sample stool the beer. Tomasita’s may be my target. Or anything else that catches my eye.

And I haves a freezer full of green chiles (mailed fresh from NM; best birthday present ever) , so I should be ok on that front, but well see what I’m hungry for.

Another place where I’ve always had good food is Del Charro, just a couple of blocks south of the plaza. Very reasonably priced, too.

One more option: Posa’s El Merendero. A small, out-of-the-way place. Nothing fancy by any means. But the food is fantastic.

If I had to pick one I’d go with Tomasita’s.

Sitting at the bar at Tomasita’s, nibbling chips and guac, and waiting for my tamales.

Skip Santa Fe , eat in Albuquerque at Tucanos Brazilian Grille on Central, If you don’t know what you want to eat, they will certianly have it.

That was tasty. Thanks all. Maybe next time I roll through I’ll try to meet up with some folks.

I’ll be in Albuquerque tomorrow night. Will keep that in mind.

If you don’t mind having New Mexican twice in a row, Sadie’s is outstanding. The service is not, but the pork adovada will make up for it. I found the spice to be extremely warm—the next day, unpleasantly so—but then again so was everything else in New Mexico.
