Drudge, Limbaugh accuse hurricanes of liberal bias

Even worse, imagine what Trump by flapping his lips is going to cause!

No, no, no, no. It was Hawaii. It came from Hawaii.

Which hurricanes are a liberal plot, promoted by the lying liberal media to get money for slacker scientists, and which hurricanes are sent directly by God as a punishment to the heathen gay liberals?

SO confused now.

The right has memes of Obama dressed up as a witch doctor. So it makes sense, witch doctors can control the weather. That makes Obama a communist Muslim animist.

Say there was some sort of liberal cabal of scientists who desperately needed the public to believe in climate change and would employ any draconian plot to serve their purposes, including lying about the threat of hurricanes. What’s in it for them? More grant money?

Liberal Cabal Scientist #1: Hey, there’s a hurricane heading towards Florida.
Liberal Cabal Scientist #2: Well don’t just stand there, man! Inflate its speed and destructive power so the sheep will get scared into pressuring the government for more funding. We’ve got our New World Order to maintain after all.

Of all people, Drudge and Limbaugh should know about the Waffle House Index.

Hey, buddy, there was only one Hurricane Katrina when Obama came up to bat. He’s had at least seven more by some counts.

Well, it didn’t take long for Hurricane Matthew to be tied to climate change. Apparently the reporter didn’t bother to ascertain that this was the first major hurricane to strike the U.S. since 2005.

As noted in this article and taking into account recently-published research, there’s a lot of uncertainty over whether or not there will be more (and more severe) hurricanes due to climate change. The lack of evidence supporting the thesis up till now should (but often does not) lead to great caution before attributing any specific weather event or even short-term trends to man-made effects on climate.

Even if the more-and-bigger-hurricane hypothesis doesn’t pan out, it doesn’t invalidate climate change science as a whole or eliminate the need to make thoughtful decisions to cut back emissions. Meantime, excessive and unsupportable hype (even if one thinks it’s for our own good) gives aid and comfort to the conspiracy theorists and “science was wrong before!” idiots.

Knock it off, will ya. Have you seen the predicted path? It supposed to make a sharp turn to the right.

The article on CNN has some absolutely priceless reactions from unnamed Republicans within the campaign:

Not to worry. I’m sure Anderson Cooper of CNN would not think to bring this up during Sunday’s debate.

Uh, the articles you linked actually says the same I did say early. The increase in intensity is not coming from imagination but has been measured.

The real idiots are indeed the ones that will twist that into saying the opposite or to exaggerate what scientists are actually reporting.

Well, Trump is a hurricane of lies. Although I suspect you posted in th wrong thread.

Hundreds have been killed by this storm, and Florida was lucky it just skirted up the coast and didn’t make a direct hit. Make no mistake this was and still is a dangerous weather event.

Im sick of people ripping into weather forecasters for “ginning up” forecasts, no matter what the supposed motivation. Better safe than sorry, I always say.

Starting to hear more about this when schools close ahead of time of a predicted snow event. People only complain when it doesn’t materialize. Whats the big deal? So your kids were home and safe, as a precaution. If there was 12" of snow, you would have been grateful they were home and safe.

No one bitched about the Sandy or Katrina forecasts.

Sandy didn’t count?

I have a neighbor who insists the hurricane that just passed through yesterday was an Obummer/Shrillary plot to convince us climate change is real. These people do exist.

It doesn’t matter that it was Fox’s own Shepard Smith who warned us

Surely you mean a communist Islamist animist?!

Ok, so Rick Scott declaring an emergency and telling people to bug the hell out while they still had their lives, was acting in cahoots with the liberal climate change hoaxers? Good to know.
(And annoyingly, when the day comes that there is no last minute wobble and the Big One does clobber them, we won’t even be able to laugh at these people because they’ll be holding on to flotsam 10 miles out to sea…)

Knock it off! Katrina was obviously an experiment by leftist scientists which got out of control. Bush singlehandedly (with help from Pat Robertson) kept the hurricane from hitting Bush’s Texas ranch.

Technically, this is only true if by “major” you mean Category 3 and above. For obvious reasons, “major” could easily refer to Sandy or some of these other storms, since wind strength is not the only measurement by which something can be described as “major.”

Hurricanes Humberto, Dolly, Gustav, Ike, Irene, Isaac, Sandy, Arthur, and Hermine all struck the continental U.S. between 2006 and 2016 (not counting the Hawaii storms for this purpose) - none of them were Category 3 or above when they made landfall.

We were watching MSNBC last night waiting for the Trump tape, and switched to Fox to see what they said. They had 100% hurricane coverage. Trump, what Trump?
(I didn’t stay long, but not much was happening then.)
