very strange-since election day i can’t get on the drudge report with internet explorer like i had been doing for months-but when i go on with the AOL browser i get right on-all my other sites open right up with the IE -its just drudge that wont work-i read that other people had problems too-a clinton gov’t conspiracy?
Yes it’s a Clinton Government conspiracy. Today a White House spokesman said in an NPR interview that the white house is now employing about 100 student volunteers to continually ping the Drudge Report web site in an effort to prevent the freedom-loving citizens of the USA to be informed about the real issues concerning the election and the Clinton cabinet.
Prominent republicans including senator Trent Lott and representative Dennis Hastert have launched accusations of first amendment violations and some republicans have compared the actions of the Clinton’s white house to the excesses of censorship common under the communist regime of Joseph Stalin.
You can probably find the audio version at the NPR web site.
In other news, increased sitings of black helicopters have been reported today over the states of Montana and Idaho. Many freedom fighters are heading for mountain cabins and/or underground shelters. The US military is denying any knowledge of these flights, and in a prepared statement secretary general of the UN Kofi Annan refused to comment.

i knew it! i knew it!
I didn’t see a smiley, but I assume your kidding right?
At any rate, the reason that the drudgereport and other sites could be loaded inside AOL, but not in IE is fairly simple. If you are connected to AOL, and are using the browers inside of the AOL client, when you download a page, AOL first checks if any of the other 1.7 million members online at the same time as you recently requested the same page. If so, they send you a copy that they saved. This way, you request doesn’t have to go all the way to the drudgereport.com server, which was probably overloaded at the time and not responding to new requests. If you use IE, or netscape or whatever external browser you want, the request goes straight to the site and doesn’t get checked against the cache. Generally, the internal browser (which is actually Internet Explorer) will usually be faster.
thanks-it probably is overloaded due to the elections
now please tell me why i can’t open my napster software anymore-should i reload windows 98?
Yes MinkMan I was kidding. Your answer was much better.
I am authorised to disagree.
Um…could it be the Drudge report was experiencing some high traffic and couldn’t be loaded properly?
Yes … yes, that’s it. Now let’s have no more curiosity about this bizarre coverup.
Prescisely! Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain, folks, walk on, walk on…
There is no secret government conspiracy, no black UN helicopters and only a very few secret CIA operatives online (and they’re all busy looking for porn anyway). Please return to your ordinary lives, secure in the knowledge that Uncle Sam has only our best interests at heart, all the time.
I’ve had problems since Tuesday as well but was able to get on around 8 a.m. eastern time and don’t worry, you are not missing anything. Just info that you can find in his usual references. No bombshells or inside scoop.
Arnold! I’ll hold you personally responsible.http://my.aol.com/news/news_story.psp?type=4&cat=0800&id=00111312185656
Speaking of the Drudgemeister, did any one see the report that on election night, his site was quoting “exit polls” in Oregon? Since all of Oregon’s voting was done by mail, just what were those polled exiting from? The Post Office?
