Iraqalypse Now. This is becoming a bigger disaster by the day. Bush has these choices: a) Declare victory after the January elections, declare the Iraqis in charge, cut the losses and bug out. b) Stay in and continue to serve up sitting ducks for the insurgents to pick off. Choose (a) and the new Iraq “democracy” falls and the entire war effort is seen as a waste of lives and money. Choose (b) and the popularity of the war continues to slowly drop over time. Either way, by 2006 or certainly by 2008, the electorate will be ready to throw the rascals out.
I wasn’t asking for the rationale. I was asking if you want to put your money where your mouth is.
That is, if you have the guts.
Of course I do. I bet twenty-five cents that the Dems will win the White House in 2008.
Political capital is something you spend, and then it’s gone. A mandate is the gift that keeps on giving. I can’t believe you honestly thought your quote rated a “yes” answer to the question. I guess it depends on what the meaning of “yes” is…
Merry Christmas!
