I have a new appreciation for my bike helmet. My girlfriend and I were grocery shopping today. Her bike was chained to a rack one side of the street, my bike was on the other. As she was unlocking her bike, I put on my helmet, then I went to cross the street to my bike. I looked both ways, stepped off the curb and – WHAM!
A pigeon slammed into the side of my head!
Another pedestrian said it looked liked the bird was swooping in for a landing then lost control. Both pigeon and human were unhurt.
See? You everyone should wear a bike helmet. It protects you from birds falling from the sky.
