That would depend on whether they are the kind of person who’s in awe of job titles. For those who aren’t, he’s their copilot and any other jobs he happens to have are as secondary to the situation as his favorite color.
An upgrade takes a couple of months of full time training and once trained you really need some solid time flying the line to get comfortable. I don’t think he’d be able to commit the time and energy required.
He may also not be flying enough to be comfortable doing an upgrade.
John Travolta didn’t fly for Qantas, he is an ambassador for them and part of the deal was that Qantas would pay the maintenance on JT’s ex-Qantas B707 and give him a type rating in a B747. The type rating is done in a simulator and doesn’t involve flying passengers for real.
