Ok, the thread about whether other countries have something like the Tonight Show made me recall that I wanted to ask about this.
I’ve spent the last couple of summers over in the netherlands and Flanders and I must ask about a couple of shows:
A) It’s something like a talk show (I think I saw this one two? three? summers ago?) and the “host” is like an evil Muppet bunny bartender-- drunk and sleazy stuffed rabbit-puppet sits around the bar and drinks and hassles the audience and tells what seemed to me with my limited comprehension to be dirty jokes. Punchlines like “a trouser-snake! Ha ha!” and the like. . . what IS that show? Amused the hell out of me.
B) Just saw that Red Bull in the US is sponsoring a “totally new kind of show” which is very much like but inferior to something that plays weekly over there-- they seem to go to towns with canal systems (or this is always in the same town?) and teams of 4 or 5 students of volunteer firemen or whatever have put together cart or sledge contraptions which they have to drive/ slide down ramps towards the water with and try to ring a bell (by jumping off extended springboards or using boat-things). What is THIS show called? What’s the deal? It amuses me.
A. I’m pretty sure you are refering to Ab Normaal. (shown by V8 at friday night and possibly other nights as well). Those are ‘dirty jokes’ allright, but also of the ‘blonde jokes’ kind. The title is a rather common pun (looking like a name (Ab is a first name), but when concatenated meaning Abnormal)
B. This sounds like the format of Te land, ter zee, en in de lucht. I remember this show from the 70’s-80’s. The participants had to cross water, or fly, or do something on land (I’ve forgotten what), by using home-built wacky vehicles. The part on the water is like you describe it.
You are aware that these are not considered to be very good shows, now do you? 
As a matter of fact, they were among my prime reasons for leaving that country, at least for a while.
Oh, and this Ab Normaal bunny, he started out as a comic character byURL=http://www.lambiek.net/driel_van.htm]Toon van Driel. Wasn’t much use then, but things got worse after that. Why couldn’t he stick to FC Knudde?
