How would one go about simultaneously starting multiple DV-Camcorders at the same time? Is there a way to accurately sync a DV-Cam?
I was thinking that there has to be, as the vast majority of Spike Lee’s Bamboozled was shot using configurations of 5-15 synced-up consumer DV cameras.
I asked a filmmaker friend how this is done, and she had no idea.
Why is it neccessary to sync the cameras when you record when it’s far easier to edit the footage to be in sync later. It’s been done for years to sync film and separately recorded sound with the low tech clapboard. You can go high tech as there are clapboards with a digital time code display.
