DVD reviews, all regions

So I finally broke down and shelled out some bucks for a non-region DVD player. Why - because I need movies like Day of the Beast. I also need to be able to have a use for things such as the whoop-ass region 2 Hellraiser Lament Configuration boxed set. I also hear that the Japanese version of the Friday the 13th boxed set is far superior to the American one.

But enough of that.

Is there a website out there that compares DVDs from all regions/countries and lets us know which one is the best? I’ve been brooding over this lately, because the Canadian version of Ginger Snaps non-discrimatorily kicks all kinds of tuckus (did that even make sense?) My mediocre version was cheaper, but damned if I wouldn’t have spent the extra $10 or so to get the special edition. Now I’ll probably buy it anyway, and every now and then point menacingly at my feeble not-so-special version (think the evil monkey in Chris Griffins closet style action)

Also, any input from non-region DVD-player fans or superior version buting advice would be welcome as well. Especially horror (which the Cap’n digs on a regular basis, especially when accompanied by a St. Paulie Girl and some of those Og-Forsaken Andy Capp French Fry abominations)

Thanks,
Cap’n GG BD (whom if ye cannot tell, has been hitting the flagon of grog tonight)

This site is very good. Check out the R1vsR4 section at the top left. The regional comparisons are at the end of each review, some also throw in differences between R2 DVS’s as well.

As an example, their Brotherhood of the Wolf comparison.

DVD Beaver does all-region reviews and side-by-side comparisons.
