How can a person die if they have a seizure from anything other than hitting your head or any other part of your body on a hard object? I guess im asking if there are any other symptons of a seizure which are fatal?
seizures can be fatal if a person has a series of seizures without regaining consciousness in between them. The brain and heart become severely stressed which can lead to death. That’s why it’s advised that if a person has a seizure for more than five minutes an ambulance should be called. Hopefully, someone can post more details as I don’t know all the facts
When a person is seizing, they don’t breath very effectively at all. The muscles responsible for respiration are generally seizing too. Hypoxia then can lead to death.
We’re fortunate that the heart muscle follows it’s own internal pacemaker, so is far less affected by a seizure.
