In a column Cecil talks about dyslexia in english and chinese:
I’m dyslexic in finnish but not in english. Even though we use mostly the same alphabet I have no problems when reading or writing english except my abysmall typing. I might not know exactly how a word is written but that’s because I’ve learned most of my english by not writing.
Instead in finnish I know exactly how the words are written even in all of those cases we have. But I can write “tulli” or “tuuli” when I mean “tuli” and read it back and not see the mistake I made.
Btw. “tulli” is “toll”, “tuuli” is “wind” but “tuli” is “fire or (he/she) came”.
