EA games on steam with no DRM: Spore, Mass Effect, Mirrors Edge and more

If you held out on buying this games because of the DRM heres your chance to put up or shut up. I picked up Mass Effect and Mirrors Edge, i would have picked up spore but as i had downloaded it previously and was very dissapointed with it i think ill save myself the cash. Crysis which was already on steam still has DRM btw, do not want.

Edit: woops a link would be nice huh? Yes, it would.

Steam is a DRM in itself even though it’s a bit more lenient than others.

Sigh, yes you are right. I didn’t have enough room in the title for “no annoying DRM that will ruin your computer and treat you like a criminal for buying a game”. I’m a big fan of steam, all my game purchases have been through there recently.

I’ve purchased some stuff from other digital download spaces like Direct 2 Drive, and now I’m regretting it to the point where I’m going to re-purchase games I like from Steam. The last straw was when I went to re-install Medieval II (I purchased it from Direct2Drive) and was told that I had exceeded my allowable activations and would have to call and beg their support to allow me 1 more install.

Well, fuck that.

The only places I want Steam to improve on are the interface (It’s looking dated now, and the friends list could be better presented and easier to interact with). More PC related social stuff like allowing me to interact with other social networks right from the Steam friend’s list. An improvement to their voice chat codecs/performance and of course, more games!

Sorry DigitalC, did not mean to sound snarky. As for steam improvements, I would like the option of uploading saved games. That way you could start your game were you last saved it on your home PC when you’re somewhere else with your laptop.

Digital distributors should really get their shit together. Steam is great, but it being the only decent distributer is not in the best interest of consumers. GOG.com is pretty good though if you’re into old games.

ooh, yeah the Steam cloud concept is cool, but they gotta add the option of uploading saved games. That would rock.

And yes, I agree, as much as I love Steam,if they don’t have a healthy competition, their quality of service will inevitably go down. That’s just how businesses operate for some damn reason.
