It just shows how dishonest you are gorrilla man.
What there says “I invite Salvador and Stormfront members to debate with us”? It was an open question, not directed at you. Not everything is about you.
I don’t think corn flakes are approved for the Aryan diet. They’re kinda tan-looking.
Salvador, here’s something I don’t understand. You claim to be a Latino of some sort of entirely Iberian descent, and you have a bone to pick with mestizos and presumably Creoles and so forth… but a) if you really are of Spanish descent, you’ve probably got some Moorish blood in you anyway. b) To the others on Stormfront, you’re just some Dago trying to muscle in on their movement. Don’t you get it? If the White Homeland ever comes to pass, you aren’t going to be allowed in. What then? Having alienated every reasonable person, and being denied access to the festering cesspool that a nation of racists will soon become, where will you go?
Affirmative action and minority scholarships are supposed to fix inequality. What inequality would a whites only scholarship fix?
Come on, now. I have little use for affirmative action as currently practiced, but the idea of “white” scholarships is not only offensive, it’s ridiculous.
I guarantee that there are dozens, maybe hundreds of scholarships offered by ethnic fraternal organizations to outstanding young Polish-Americans, Irish-Americans, Italian-Americans, Jewish-Americans, etc. Practically by definition, those scholarships go to white kids (yes, I know one can be both black and Italian, but you get the idea). I have never heard even the most militant spokesmen for African-Americans say that the Ancient Order of Hibernians can’t offer scholarships to Irish kids, or that the Knights of Columbus can’t offer scholarships for Catholic kids, even though very few black students would be eligible for such scholarships.
But while the definition of “Irish” or “Catholic” is pretty cut and dried, the definition of “white” is laughably vague. Would my dark-skinned, half-Irish, half-Puerto Rican niece qualify for a “white” scholarship? Why or why not? Who decides, and on what basis?
Regardless, anyone who would set up a “white” scholarship fund is obviously TRYING to make people angry, and has no right to act outraged when they react as he obviously intended them to.
Why didn’t you answer Super Gnat’s question, Salvador?
I offer my son as an example- he’s a brilliant student and could get into any university in the country. He will be attending the University of Michigan this year. He has already gotten a small scholarship from U-M and we expect more based on our FAFSA. However, there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that if he was black, he could go anywhere in the country on a free ride.
I’m well aware of the history of discrimination in this country and have no problem with making race a factor in admissions- but middle class white kids have a tougher time financing their educations than black kids of any economic class.
What about “black”? It’s also laughably vague. “African-American” is just as laughably vague. What is the cut-off for who is and isn’t? All race classifications are laughably vague. They are nothing but social fictions to which the delusional give far too much import.
Regardless of the amount of scholarships avaible to “exclusively” white kids, that still doesn’t explain the discrepancy in admissions policies. I go to Northwestern University. I worked my a** off to get here. There are students here that are not half the student I am, but were admitted because the University needed to fulfill a minority requirement. Whether or not you agree with that, you cannot deny that all it really does is makes white kids hate minorities because they get breaks the white kids don’t. All this PC hullabaloo does is perpetuate white hate and cheat honest kids out of money and opportunity because the establishment had to give their spot to a lesser-qualified minority for some government edict.
Jess
P.S. The young repubs here at NU had a bake sale where they charged based on the customer’s race. The percentage of cost increase was based on the percentage of students of their race. A cupcake was $.25 if you were black. It was $2.00 if you were white. That’s exactly what these sort of practices are doing to us middle-class white kids. We didn’t do anything to the minorities. We never oppressed anyone in our lives, but now we get discriminated against in the name of reparations.
Of course, universities these days are overwhelmingly black and Latino, so you have every reason to whine.
White people can’t be poor? Or come from a disadvantaged school system?
Right. I think ALL racial scholarships should be banned. If they want to link them to region of birth “Harlem”, “Appalachia” “Subsaharan Africa” - then fine. That will admit mostly the ethnicity you want. But a poor “white” kid from Harlem can need help as much as his next door neighbor- who just happens to have much darker skin.
Who can justify any benefits based upon skin color alone?
