Early 70's macabre tv show...night gallery? the sixth sense?

Denver Pyle and Warren Oates? Definitely watching it when I get home tonight.

Well, my first guess was that this was going to turn out to be an old episode of Alfred Hitchcock Presents, so I spent a bunch of time bouncing around that show’s Wikipedia pages. When that proved fruitless, I just typed “scarecrow horror tv show” into a search engine and hoped for the best. Luckily, “The Hollow Watcher” was featured in the first search result. When I got to the part about somebody being stuffed into a scarecrow, I thought I was on the right track. Eventually, I came across this page, which includes a stupendously meaty review of the episode, along with some stills that all but sewed it up for me.

hmmm…I didn’t google the correct word sequence it seems.

Jeez, that’s a nice cite (and site)!

Are we to assume she went mad at the end? Because it sure looks like she got away with murder (twice, if supernatural murder counts), and shows of that generation didn’t like to let criminals escape justice.

Wait’ll you see Pigeons From Hell; you’ll forget all about scarecrows.

One of my rules of thumbs is that any creepy, burned-in-your-memory episode from the early 60’s would be from Thriller. (The OP’s wording threw me off on this one.)
