wolfstu stole the one I was going to but, but: Grosse-Roche and Normétal, Quebec.
Copperas Cove, TX (interesting in that there was never any copper found anywhere near the town; it was named for the flavor of the spring water that could be found there.)
The name of Galveston, TX brings forth associates in my mind with galvanized steel, though it is named instead for Bernardo de Gálvez y Madrid, Count of Gálvez (and it was originally known as Saint Louis, but that’s not important).
Black Earth, Wisconsin.
Silverton, NSW
Marble Bar, WA
Sandstone, WA
Broken Hill, NSW has a Sulphide Street.
Bluff City (TN/TX)
You forgot Silt.
There’s also an Earth City, Missouri. Its highlights include a landfill and an open air amphitheater. Brilliant!
Tin City, AK, which is now just a ghost town with a military radar facility nearby. It was once a thriving tin mine.
Copper Center, AK: near the river of the same name, at the source of which was the Kennecott Copper Mine, now defunct.
