Sorry, I was unclear - I meant they don’t get the jury list solely from voter registrations. They use several sources. So you can’t duck under the jury radar just by not registering to vote.

This is an example of an arcane legal rule in which a cat may be dismissed from jury duty by revealing itself to be a cat; however, a cat capable of speech has obviously revealed itself to be human, and therefore eligible for jury duty. That’s some catch, that Cats-22.

Most likely noise and sheer number of animals for a given living space. Never had to live in an area with such, just came across references over the years.

On the other hand, I’ve been continually registered to vote since I was 18. I moved a few times over the course of 14 years (in NY and NJ) and always changed my registration. I didn’t get a jury summons until I got my first driver’s license at the age of 32.
