It is my understanding that the Nazis tried to undermine the influences of religion, but that this was hard to do completely. Was Easter was still celebrated 1940-45?
How about Passover? Did the Nazis enact laws that made it illegal to practice Judaism? I would guess that German Jews had a bit of de jure protection that Polish and Russian Jews would not have. On the other hand, the Nazis may have been more likely to allow religious ceremonies in ghettos (and Camps ?!) than in Germany. Which Jews had more religious freedom?
