OK, there’s a chance that my fall vacation might be to Maine. Mostly coastal, hitting some of the reliable touristy spots. One thing that I’m curious about, though, is the Old Sow whirlpool. Theoretically, it sounds kinda cool to see a big whirlpool, but the few photos I’ve seen on the net don’t look particularly impressive, and if it is, knowing a good vantage point might determine whether or not it’s worth the drive. We’ll have plenty of stuff to do without it, but was just curious. Anyone thoughts??
I’ve seen it. It was a long time ago, but I don’t recall it being that impressive. I don’t think I’d go too far out of my way to see it. (Of course I may have been there at a bad time, too.)
