I just got this in my email. It says it’s from eBay, but they are asking all sorts of questions, some of which I do remember like asking for a credit card, but now it’s asking for things like my SSN, mother’s maiden name, checking account number, driver’s licence and a few other things. I thought that I read this is a scam, and it seems like one to me.
If this is a scam let me know because if it’s not then I will not be doing buisness with eBay any more, they already have my info and do not need more. Or if it’s a scam I’m gonna have fun with them.
I’d say it’s a scam. Here’s some text in a recent email from Ebay from an auction I won a few days ago:
Protect your eBay account - eBay will not ask you for sensitive personal information (such as your password, credit card, bank account numbers, Social Security numbers, etc.) in an email.
Actually they didn’t ask for it in an email, the said goto this page, the one listed above, and wanted this info. I also forgot to say that for me the page was not encrypted.
It is a scam. The URL in your link translates to an IP address corresponding to http://www.migane.com/. DO NOT ENTER ANY INFORM,ATION INTO THAT FORM!! You should report it to eBay immediately.
The URL has an @ sign in it, which means that you are being redirected to a different server (in this case, 198.173.251.33) than the one in the text of the URL. (cgi3.ebay.com is at 66.135.194.40) Not to mention the text part of the URL in this case is malformed.
Sure sign it’s a scam, all the other signs notwithstanding.

Had that happen with AOL once long ago when I was young and stupid (AOL that is )
Somehow I was redirected to the AOL login screen. I started to type it in but something felt wrong. I then noticed the screen was slightly grainy and that none of the buttons worked. It was just a screen shot. They would have gotten login name and password had I continued.
