I won an auction last night for $112, with shipping listed as $2 Economy Shipping below my winning bid. It’s just a bunch of stamps, so that shipping price is pretty typical.
Anyway, when I click “Pay Now”, the shipping is now listed as “Economy Services - $12”.
I’ve never experienced anything like this on eBay before. Any idea where the $10 jump came from?
As an ebay seller I think I know exactly where it came from. I can’t speak to the price jump.
As of 1/27/13 “parcel post / economy shipping” no longer exists as postage category for USPS. Ebay listed items that have the “economy shipping” option listed as the preferred shipping category and that rely on the internal ebay shipping applet will throw up on themselves as the applet has not been configured (thank you ebay!) to handle this new postage category. Talk to the seller to get it straight.
I’m pretty much just shipping everything USPS priority until it gets sorted out.
