Some questions on edible oils:
A) In a scene from “Happy Days”, I believe “Potsy” uses caster (sp?) oil before drinking - to prevent from getting drunk. Does this really work? Is the idea that oil and alcohol won’t easily mix in the stomach, thus slowing down absorption into the blood stream?
B) Also, from that same era, why were children spoon-fed such oils either after dinner or before bed?
C) If your’re familiar with the movie “Lorenzo’s oil”, it got me thinking. This may be far-fetched, but does the oil from fish have direct benefit for the brain’s protective coating (mylian?) over the nerves? Might we find that fish oil really does make fish out to be “brain food”, indeed?
Any answers to these questions would be appreciated.
