"Edit with ...." in IE

I want to edit a website using Frontpage. To make this short I NEED to be able to File -> Edit the website in question. Whenever I do that the only option is to edit with Word. So I went into the IE options and looked into changing the default HTML editor. I changed it to FP and nothing happened. So I went in again and changed it to notepad just to see what would happen there. Again it still opened in word. So I went back once again and FP wasn’t even in the list. What should I do?

I don’t know the answer to your problem but… don’t use FP if you can avoid it: it produces horrendous code and bloats your pages.

However, if you use another browser (e.g. Mozilla) it often comes with a built-in editor which works in HTML and in WYSIWYG.

If you’re set on using FP, can you just start FP and load the page from there? Or are you just asking how to get the shortcut thing in place?

you might have to change it in the registry (which can be kind of dangerous messing around in there if you don’t know what you are doing)

I got it to let me edit the page in frontpage. I was kinda thinking that adding FP to the list would require some sort of registry manipulation. It’s no big deal now though. Thanks everyone!
