Edmund Fitzgerald Day 2016

I know one of the old threads was bumped a month or so ago, but I didn’t see it on the first page of this forum. Plus, doing the Billie Joe McCallister and
Edmund Fitzgerald annual threads is pretty much my place in the world, so here we are.
*
Fellas, it’s too rough to feed ya.*

The song, of course

Felix Ungar day falls out this coming Sunday.

Wierdly, I opened this thread just as “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald” came on the 70’s Music Choice channel.

I was just out on my BIL’s boat for a few weeks in the Chesapeake. We were watching for Hurricane Matthew to come zooming up the coast like Isabell a few years back. And as we were expecting this nasty weather to descend on us, the radio station we were listening to at night thought it appropriate to play Mr. Lightfoot’s classic more than a few times. Damn near makes you religious. But I figured it was the time of the year.

So I came to the thread
Was dismayed what I read
For the song is now stuck
In my cranium…

I love the song and most all ballads!

Not a bad song to have stuck in your head, I’ve had so many other stupid as hell songs stuck there for days…:smack::mad::frowning:

If you could read my mind, Garg
what a tale my thoughts would say
'Bout the night of an ore boat sinking
and an earworm I’d wish away . . .

I tried to play the song for my daughter yesterday and explain the event. She responded by pulling up an Irish drinking song on YouTube, with animated dragons and everything!* :smack:

*It was a pretty good song actually. I need to look the band up. She definitely wasn’t taking it seriously, however.

This one?

This one, followed by this one. The second one is really stuck in my head. I will now go look the artists up.

You’re welcome.
