one of my co-workers was there last night- I told her she missed her chance to see a dead body. She says she didn’t notice a body, any gross smells, or a mental case wandering around the store. She says she will try to be more aware of her surroundings from now on!

She better! How could you not notice any mental cases in Wal-Mart? Unless, of course, you’re completely used to them by now.

Technically the seat belt is to prevent injury. You can`t be any more injured then dead. So, I guess she would be exempt from the seatbelt thing…No?

The seatbelt law is not only to prevent you from being injured, but also to prevent other occupants of the car from being injured by your flying body, so being dead probably wouldn’t exempt you on that basis. OTOH, I think it exempts you from having to pay the fine.

Would a dead body actually be considered a passenger in the car, or simply baggage? Of course, you can also get a ticket for having objects in the car not properly secured. You can’t have items flying around and hitting the driver.

But, you don’t have to wear your seatbelt when you’re just parked. Also, where I’m from, if someone is stopped by the cops and a passenger isn’t wearing a seatbelt, it’s the driver who gets the ticket.
