Say I were to come into a few billion pounds, and I wanted to start a new football club, rather than buy an existing one. I’ve got the money to create a magnificent ground, and buy up a squad of world-class footballers. What league could I actually start in, and how many tiers is that below the EPL?
I’m not sure but using AFC Wimbledon as an example it looks like you’d be starting at the ninth level of the English league system, eight below the Premier league.
