I can’t help but think that this is going to backfire as a strategy in a big way, if not in the short term then definitely in the long term.

I also read that one of the few networks still apparently online is Noor, which provides connectivity for the Egyptian stock exchange. Seems like adding insult to injury.

“No, you can’t have your scrappy social media grass-roots organizing, but yeah we’re still going to keep the money-machine greased.”

So right now China and North Korea have less restrictive internet access than Egypt? Wow.
