Either I post this or I put my fist through the wall of my sister's house.

Proof that I’m up way past my bedtime: when I first read that sentence, I read “scotch” as “crotch.”

Oh, Beeblebrox, I am so glad for you!

[sub]trade it in…trade it in…trade it in…trade it in…[/sub]

Jeep Cherokees / Grand Cherokees are the 3rd or 4th most stolen vehicles in the country. Not only do they have flimsy steering columns (which the manufacturer doesn’t seem enthused to address) there is a hot market for parts.

Beeblebrox I’m very glad that you got your Jeep back. But please get yourself some kind of anti-theft protection, huh?

Wow, that’s awesome that you got the Jeep back, Beeble. If they’re that easy to steal, it’s a wonder why people don’t deliberately make one wheel flat whenever they park the car…

Beeblebrox, what would the probability be of you having your jeep stolen twice and returned in almost perfect shape twice…
Is there a heart of gold you are holding out on?

GROAN

The towing company lied to me. Last night they said all that was wrong was a broken window and a broken steering column. They didn’t mention the dash… or the front bumper… or the radiator… or the hood… or the left front corner panel.

Honestly, who the fuck steals a corner panel? It had to be that the thief was filling an order for somebody and took specific parts. Why else would you take the goddamn hood and front bumper, but leave all four wheels?

I really don’t need this shit this week.

Yeah, but cheer up at least a little! Auburn 17 - Alabama 7 was worth somethin’, and cars are always needing replacement.

Have another scotch

Truly crappy news, beeb, that sounds like a pretty standard ATL shop ‘n’ chop. From the locations of the theft and recovery, they probably drove right by my house on the way. I know a couple of boneyards in the area, if you care to DIY. I’ll shoot you an email shortly. pbrtallboy, I suspect you and I are pretty close neighbors… I’ll try your email link too, maybe we can drag beeblebrox over to the Clermont and make him forget his troubles.

I’m going to install a cut-off switch under my dash this weekend. This could have been me.

Is it possible that the towing company is working both sides of the street? Could they have taken the other parts themselves after another order came in?

I’m curious about that as well. I mean, how the fuck do you not notice that a quarter panel is missing?

Elvis, Demise, I didn’t even fucking think of that. You both can be damn sure that I will get a copy of the police report. I don’t think that that State Wide Towing took the parts, but I am definately going to double check. You never know, and since Superior Towing took it out of State Wide’s lot to take it to Catharine’s Auto Repair*, if State Wide pulled something, I’ll nail the fuckers.

Stockton, I’ve replied to your e-mail; let’s go to the Clairmont where I can drown my sorrows. Congratulations again obn tying the knot.

John Carter of Mars, War Eagle. Excuse me, I meant WAR DAMN EAGLE. Too bad LSU won and took all chance of reaching the SEC Championship away from AU. Looks like we are in the Outback Bowl. But at least we beat 'Bama

I highly recomend Catharine’s Auto Repair. I know her, and she does great work no matter if she knows you or not

Its the Jeep Wrangler that gets stolen a lot, not the Cherokee.
