Election Wiki leaks Thread

If a “state party” really did anything, I bet it’s more along the lines of Ecuador getting tired of the freeloader.

A raid on the Embassy happening in the UK is pretty much unthinkable anyway. Every single country with a UK embassy (eg all of them) would complain loudly and probably withdraw their ambassadors to the UK. Even in China they respect the sanctity of embassies, if a dissident is in a foreign embassy, they can put extreme pressure on the country to hand them over, but I’ve never heard of them physically raiding one.

I’m thinking the powers that be @ Ecuador is not happy to now be harboring a man who has targeted, personally and viciously, the future President of the United States.

They probably thought Assange was worth it when he was (seemingly) tossing random spit balls at people, but now he has targeted a person who has the ability, with little effort of her own, to make Ecuador’s life hell.

So… yeah. State agency, I can believe.

Or, you know, he didn’t pay his BBC tax. (J/k!)

Hmm, yeah maybe it’s got to the point where Ecuador is not ready to push him out the door to arrest but they’d just rather he stop making trouble.

Or in other words they changed the wifi password on him.

What is Wikileaks anyway? It seems to be some rapist hiding in an embassy in cahoots with the GRU. Anybody know any differently?

I know you joke, but I think they did some important work prior up to 2011 exposing abuses in Iraq and Afghanistan.

And once he made his distaste for Clinton so public, he suddenly became a Putin patsy, Trump employee, rapist email counterfeiter. So darn strange how much he changed.

I dislike my neighbor three doors down, but I’m not going to make a habit of fencing items I know thieves have stolen from him.

Good for you. So if you were running wikileaks, you’d only accept leaks from those of the finest character. Or maybe you’d only publish leaks that weren’t “stolen”. Or you wouldn’t leak things about people you dislike. Or something. What is your little analogy supposed to be telling me exactly?

Well, he’s been an accused rapist for some time now. He’s not hiding out in the embassy because he likes the coffee.

That I wouldn’t be running Wiki Leaks, because:

  1. The ends just don’t justify the means and
  2. It’s too damn easy to turn it into a personal weapon.
My question to you is do you care how information you find useful is acquired?

And I remember a lot of murmurs from the left that the rape allegations were all a set up to punish Wikileaks’ impudence. Don’t hear that quite so much anymore.

You didn’t hear it from me. I’ll be sure to let the nebulous left know your thoughts though

Nope not suddenly at all. He’s been on a downward spiral since 2011.

Still doesn’t really answer the question, though. I’m wondering who Wikileaks is today. Looking at Wikipedia, any information about their financing and organization ends around 2011, 2012, leaving the past 4 years a bit of a blank.

The Campaign is trying to anticipate what damaging material might come from Wiki leaks. The campaign has the original emails and can verify content coming from Wiki leaks. There should be off site backups too that preserve the email record.

I’m pretty sure nothing leaked has been challenged, yet. Any faked emails will be discovered and discredited quickly.

Hillary won’t forget this anytime soon. Imho I think it will effect her Presidency’s relationship with Russia.

A smart move. Campaign is prepared for whatever Wiki leaks publishes.

Ecuador shut off Assange’s internet.

Not unexpected. The US must be applying enormous pressure on Ecuador.

Wiki leaks still released a new batch of emails. Shutting down Assange won’t stop them.

Called it.

(Hey! I did! So I get to call my calling it!)

Damn, guy was a hero when he was outing Bush/Cheney’s Iraq shenanigans.

Assange is putting his personal liberty at risk by exposing these records. Ecuador can kick him out of their Embassy at any time. That ends any protection that he has. I can only assume he feels this data dump is worth risking everything.

I am puzzled why he’s risking so much for these emails. Nothing released so far is worth it. Imho There has to be bigger revelations to come.

The military leaks were much different. There were shocking disclosures that changed how many viewed the recent wars.
