Well, we are in a thread about the electoral college. There are probably better ones to discuss his wisdom and wit.
Yeah, the republican response has been, you lost, get over it!
And, since it is your fault that you made us win, it is your fault what we are about to do.
So–why waste your energy here? The College will install Trump, no matter what we say here.
Where are those threads explaining the wonderfulness of the upcoming regime?
Because it’s fun. Because watching the Democrats frantically thrash about, looking for the tiniest little thread of anything to try to overturn the election results is some of the best entertainment I’ve had all year.
Mitch McConnell is now a Democrat. OK then.
Is it your belief that McConnell is hoping to overturn the election results?
Far more entertaining than trying to find something good to say about The Donald!
It sure is, but if you want to have a thread about that, start one and I’ll pop in and share some thoughts.
Do you also enjoy watching drowning kittens? They frantically thrash about, looking for the tiniest little thread of anything to try to overturn their fate.
Of course, in this situation, you get to enjoy that fate along the rest of us. As you have yet to have actually said anything positive about Trump, I assume that you are just as concerned about the future with him as president as we are, you are just getting glee out of watching the people who are trying to help you get punished for their efforts.
Flipping to hillary, probably not. But getting the electors to appoint an actual mainstream republican, yeah, I think that is exactly what he is hoping.
There are things that concern me, but I thought it was obvious I’m not nearly as concerned as the deranged Democrats.
Bullshit! They think I’m ‘irredeemable’ and ‘deplorable’. They’re not trying to help me.
Yes, and that was after many hours of negotiation, where both sides were ostensibly working towards the same thing, helping recover from the economic collapse, and there was disagreement on the exact details of the plan.
The idea that Obama won, and therefore should get to set the direction was something that was lost on the republicans, as they were insisting on having their way in the negotiations. They needed to be reminded of the fact that they were not in fact in charge, and that others had ideas that the american people wanted to see implemented.
That is different than the situation where the republicans are currently trying to taunt the democrats with their “You lost, get over it!” rhetoric. Especially as it was a pyrrhic victory for them as they actually don’t want to go the direction that Trump is looking to take them.
Did you see the democrats blaming the republicans for letting their candidate win with Obama? No, then it’s a bit different.
Well, I didn’t think that you were a racist or a bigot, so I don’t know why you self describe as deplorable, but, in any case, I think the democrats have come around to the idea that racists and bigots need a seat at the table too. I don’t really like it, but if you are a self described deplorable, then I suppose we need your voice as well.
And the idea that the democrats are not trying to help you? Well, maybe not you specifically, especially if you are a proud racist, but everyone is better off in a more peaceful, prosperous society, and that is what they are working on providing for you. The fact that you slap away that help doesn’t mean that we think you’re irredeemable, just that you need help more than you are willing to admit.
You need to try reading my post again. I said “THEY THINK”. I didn’t claim to be a self-described or proud anything.
Seems like you neither trust nor respect the man all that much, but the pleasure of gloating at disheartened Dems is too sweet to resist. Got that about right?
Well, if you are not a bigot or a homophobe or a sexist or a xenophobe, then why do you think that they think that you are deplorable? Is this just something that you assume? Now, if you voted for Trump, then you are certainly allied with deplorables, so I would make the argument that it would be best to stand away from those who are rightly described as deplorable in order to avoid getting smeared with a similar brush.
Now, who has called you deplorable? I will have words with them, I know it upsets you and removes you agency, and makes you do things you would rather not do.
(Unless it was the pit, of course, no rules, so no reason to take things personally there. Or Der Trihs, I have no more words for him.)
Because you’re not paying attention, or…?
A rising tide lifts all boats. Or, to put it concretely, not getting into a trade war with China (or a shooting war with Iran) is good for you regardless of how irredeemable or deplorable you may or may not be. If you can’t figure out that it’s generally better to vote for the asshole who is willing and able to look out for your best interests than the flatterer who is unwilling or unable, then you should really reconsider voting in future elections.
I think that McConnell wants Pence in.
Then Mitch has a lot of reason to investigate and see if the President-Elect stole it.
Or, set aside the idea that Trump is a would-be nationalist dictator. If Trump may be an agent of a foreign power, then Mitch should want to look into that, and if Trump be a Russian plant, oppose Trump.
Hillary did say that the “deplorables” constituted “half of trump’s supporters”. Personally, I rate it at about a third, but it just seems like more since that sort leans toward loud and obnoxious.
No reason to assume that you’re one of them, unless there is a reason that you’re not sharing.
(Calling some trump supporters “loud and obnoxious” is not an insult. It is a defining characteristic. I’m not insulting the wind by saying that it blows.)
