I posted this before, but it seems to be gone.
Why to the controls on electric fans go in the following order?
off-high-medium-low
That seems backward. Why wouldn’t they go:
off-low-medium-high
?
This is fairly universal, so there must be a reason.

Did you try doing a search? It seems only yesterday that we covered this.
There’s something weird going on. I just searched for other posts by dsolivan (right now it says there are 2 posts total), but only got back this thread. I wonder if that thread got lost on Freaky Friday.
I just popped an e-mail off to the GQ mods. We’ll see what they have to say. In the meantime, here’s at least one thread that has some answers.
Hey, Knead, the annoucement says, “The boards were rolled back to our Friday morning 03:30 AM CDT backup so anything posted after that time was lost.” I bet this thread was originally posted after 3:30.
Yeah, that part I’m understanding it’s the apparent error in the post count that’s concerning me.
