I just purchased a shed to install at my camp grounds. I have a 220v circuit(typical camp ground box) that I was wanting to pull off of to wire the shed. I wanted to still use the plug and not open the panel to rewire. Was wandering if this could be done in the wiring of the 220 plug. I wanted to pull two 110v circuits if possible???:
If the 220 is made up of two 110v legs then yes you could. In theory anyways. I don’t know anything about electrical code in your situation or what a camp ground box is.
But if the 220 comes from a single wire carrying the 220v, then no, you can’t do it with a step down transformer.
I think ** JoeyP** meant without a step down transformer.
If the 230 is a 4 wire plug, you nan make it work, and it will be safe enough for a while. If the 230 is 3wire, you can make it work, not safely, and not to code though. NEC also frowns on plugged connection for long term use, though. If this will be more or less a permanent connection, best to go into the box and make hard wired connections. That will keep the receptical available for use, and will avoid the plugged connection degrading over time.
Without knowing the kind of receptacle on the box, it’s hard to say. There are two really common
RV power plugs that look like the plug on a regular clothes dryer or range, and some have a twist-lock, but they’re not too common yet.
If the plug is a 30 amp “crows foot” with three fat blades, you can run 240 or two 120 circuits, but there’s no ground.
If you’re lucky, you’ll have a four-blades or three blades and one pin receptacle, which does have a ground, assuming it was wired correctly, and that’s a dangerous assumption with “shore power” boxes as they tend to be rather badly abused.
First off, what is your definition of “My Camp Ground”?
Are you the owner or renter/leasiee?
When I think of a campground box this is what I am used to seeing,

If your box is different and you don’t have the 110 receptical you can purchase or build a box just like this and connect it to your existing receptical with a short cord w/plug.
Of course with more recepticals there is always the possibility of overloading the existing circuit.
