Electric scooters, the scourge of residential neighborhoods

As I recall, they called it Bubblr because it’s always-available public bikes like a bubbler is always-available public water.

I had to look up what “bubbler” was, and it’s apparently slang for a water/drinking fountain in small parts of Wisconsin and New England.

–Edited quote–

It’s tragic when this happens. Not only are the rivers getting clogged with both Lithium and Ions, but the bike paint is toxic.

Also, scooter self-harm is nothing to laugh at.

I had the opportunity to ride an electric scooter (the standup kind) this weekend, and it was really fun. I can see why people keep having the idea of leaving them all over cities for people to ride around on.

I really wish I had the need to frequently travel 1-5 miles, on pavement, where I didn’t have to carry anything. I guess I could get one to walk the dog in order to eliminate my last existing form of exercise.

You could try one of these:

Yea, that’s why it’s cute for a tavern and silly for a scooter rental.

Just an update, the 2 scooters from my block are finally gone as of this morning (I assume they were picked up by the company, but who knows, and I don’t really care). That’s about 4 weeks they were sitting there (they had been there for about a week when I first posted). I assume that my 3 phone calls had nothing to do with this, that they came when they were damned good and ready. Fuckers.
