Electric Superchargers

Actually, that supercharger will work, but at the low RPM’s. I am not justifying the purchase of such a device but it will work, momentarilly… Although, I am referring to an electric supercharger that used a R/C model airplane “turbojet” for the air charging.

A typical 2.0L engine will draw over 300CFM at max RPM, so, the electric supercharger will work in the lower RPMs but then just be in the way after the vacuum of the engine exceeds the fans capacity. Maybe if you had one per cylinder it might work.

But, overall, the current drain on these things is prohibitive, I believe when properly set-up they only run at certain RPM’s anyways and noty all the time. I think they pull some insane 50amps which will kill your battery pretty quick.

And, there have been applications developed to use electric superchargers, however, they are currently expensive, not as effective, and you have to have a real reaosn to want to install one.
