Why isn’t this just a case of an infinite number of monkeys and an infinite number of typewriters. If you uncover every prediction made about things in the last few hundred years, you’re bound to hit a percentage. Especially if you don’t try to hone in too closely on the weasel words.

But as an engineer, I do have to say that the building did collapse as a result of fire and the heat generated from it. Both Towers performed exactly as they were designed to do in the event of a major catastrophe: they didn’t collapse when a fully loaded airliner smacked into them. Their structure failed when the heat from the intense fires of jet fuel warped the metal of the superstructure.
The design of these buildings saved countless lives. A week or so after the events, an e-mail was forwarded to me from the Mich Institute of Technology detailing the accident and fire in engineering terms. Its interesting reading. I’m trying to dig it up now. . .

Mrs. White is not a psychic.
She is one of the original leaders of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. She is considered a prophet whose writing on health and Christian living are followed today by Adventists worldwide. Adventist’s believe that Mrs. White’s writing do not substitute the Bible.

Knew I could find something about what we really feel about Sept 11. I had heard this from the pulpit that this is not God’s punishment but this is from an article from the Seventh Day Adventist web page.

Seventh Day Adventists believe that we are in end times. That is where the Adventist part of the name comes from. But if you know the history of our church, we don’t set a date of when Jesus will come. The denomination arose out of what we affectionately call “The Great Disappointment of 1844”. Worldwide, different people came to an independent prediction based on Daniel and Revelation that Jesus would come in 1844. There were people who sold everything and prepared for His coming. And well He didn’t come. It was a test of many’s faith. Out of the great disappointment arose the Adventist church. It once again showed that no one knows the day or hour of His coming. But also a lesson is that God can use what appears to be a bad thing to do something for His glory.

With all due respect, I see your point and, I think I should refine my position.
In a situation like this, I do not see any of this as any sort of test of faith, either for the Taliban’s test by Allah nor the test of God to us. I see this as one madman with extreme power of persuasion exploiting that talent of persuasion over followers who then exploit the freedoms of another nation to attempt to harm it. This is not an expression of faith in any sense. This is one entity attempting to exert power over another.
My second post wasn’t meant to be slandary. I’d rather do that in person where you could fight back. But I will say that I disagree with Mrs. White and Nostradamus in that we are at the point of apocalypse. It’s that sort of thinking that actually causes people to go paranoid and think the end is really coming (which it far from is).
In any case, I don’t think this is GD worth, and I apologize for making it so. I just can’t put faith in this sorta stuff when I’m bombing Nazi-like Taliban policymakers.

I say no, and I say you got ‘lucky’ in that anyone can read that you ‘predicted’ it if you find vague meanin in it.
How you can exactly predict an in-depth military attack from one political entity by another is nearly impossible, unless you are a part of the attacking entity.

I just find this thread intensely interesting because I was raised Seventh Day Adventist.
DMAAN, I know you’re just joking, but you do realize that Osama Bin Ladin’s been around for awhile right? He didn’t just magically appear on Earth three months ago. He’s been a terrorist for awhile now and he’s contributed to a fair number of explosions and deaths throughout the MidEast and Africa. That Osama “prediction” didn’t even have to be a prediction at all.
Speaking of things not being a prediction, Hiyruu, take a step back here and read that passage objectively. She’s saying that some buildings somewhere in New York will catch on fire and crumble. That’s really all she’s saying. That’s not specific at all. You’re the one filling in the gaps where they need to go and, frankly, those are some really large gaps that need filling.
