Huge shockwave carves 900km hole, scientist say it could impact GPS systems on Earth.
Thanks? I wonder, did anybody see this coming?

Welp. I don’t think he’s planning to stop throwing rockets up there. But maybe he’ll figure out where he went wrong. He’s not the worst guy.
Ehh, The ionosphere isn’t even in my top 10 *ospheres anyway.
Well, it was an unusual flight path. I can’t get that article to come up so I can cut and paste from it, but in there it says the effect of this single flight was pretty much insignificant. Their main worry is if a lot of such flights happen, but as they say themselves most launches use a different flight path, so not seeing the issue to be honest. This also happened in 2017, so by now whatever effect there was is long gone.
And no one ever sees nor expects the Spanish inquisition…
Is Musk not the closest thing in real life to a James Bond villain as there ever has been?
Technically, wouldn’t he have torn us a new I**hole?
He’s more of a Marvel villian. And not a memorable one that they bring back like Loki; one of those that you see and you say, ”He was in an Iron Man film? Oh, 2? Well, that explains it.”
The Bond villian is sitting in the Oval Office. You can tell because his henchmen don’t realize they will be sacrificed until they find themselves in a pond full of swarming piranhas. John Kelly better watch his step. I mean that literally; Trump just replaced the White House bowling alley with an allegator trap, and had a trap door slide build right in front of his desk.
Stranger
Right, not as obviously wicked as a Bond villain. Musk is more insidious, like Valentine in Kingsman. If Musk has a nefarious subplot to all of his doings it’s not apparent, but it’s probably a doozie.
Ehhh. It’s going to turn out that Musk has been a patsy all along, and the REAL driving force behind his shenanigans is just now beginning to insinuate himself back into the big picture. I predict that some REALLY interesting developments are about to take place. In fact - -
Oh, hi, Skald! I didn’t see you standing there. Hey, welcome back, buddy!
Bestest typo evah! LOL!
Because that’s just exactly how he gets them. He just makes a claim. He doesn’t trouble himself to back anything up, he just pulls out his tweet-o-matic and alleges them to death.
Shoko Asahara, the founder of Aum Shinrikyo, takes that role for me. You might remember their attack on the Tokyo subway using sarin nerve agent. They didn’t buy the nerve agent. They established a secret lab in Australia and spent millions developing and producing it for themselves under the cover of a sheep ranching business.
Musk is more like the driven corporatist in a dystopian sci-fi movie who doesn’t pay attention to the side effects of his grand plans. It could be spun to him being the unwitting tool of the supervillain. He’s so blinded by his goal he doesn’t realize the supervillain is actively supporting him for nefarious purposes.
The story itself makes me think of an old, and bad, joke.
“Doctor, it hurts the ionosphere when I launch like this”.
“Well don’t launch like that.”
