Email Research Requests

I belong to a few (more than a few actually) email discussion lists. At least once a week, someone will send an email stating that they are a student at such and such university and are doing research on blah blah blah for a paper and would appreciate it if the listmembers would reply with the citations of relevant journal articles, books, etc. While I never respond, my reaction to these has always been “Do you own friggin’ research!” After receiving two of these in one day, I am beginning to wonder if this is a common practice. Anyone else ever receive these? What is your reaction?

I just don’t reply to people who want me to do their work for them. Also – sometimes on the SDMB it’s obvious that someone wants you to do their homework for them.
