I have merged “Fuck you, Marshall Mathers” (or something to that effect) into this thread, which has resulted in a non sequitor as the OP. Much as I loathe MM/Eminem, he still only gets ONE active thread.

Wait, wait, wait. The net effect is that of a thread on Eminem which I never authored? Weird. False attribution of the OP?
The “hear, hear” was a wiseass response to the “Marshall Mathers” thread, which had a title, bu tdid not have an actual OP.
It almost looks identical. Keep watching. The gym and extras are the same, though. Nirvana helped and so did the school. My personal favorite touch is the A+ cheerleaders.
From what I’ve heard, Kurt loved it.
Not so, he’s not recording the song, he’s recording a parody which does not violate any copyrights. He does have the legal right to make the video anyway, it’s just his custom not to if the artist says no.
Sneak up behind Eminem and whisper in his ear:
“Vanilla Ice”
Allow me to reiterate, regardless of where you fall on the “Eminem spectrum,” that this thread is not mine, I did not write the OP, I could not care less about MM, and I find this whole thing decidedly bizarre.
Ogre, why are you so obsessed with Eminem ?
Lynn, something is off the rails here, and it’s not just enema-em. Please investigate this incredible anomaly. Ogre, I did my best to indicate to the Mods that there was something screwy with the original post of the “Fuck You Marshall Mathers” thread.
Mods, it seems that Ogre is not happy with having this thread attributed to him. Please insert my screen name as the thread starter unless Ogre changes his mind.

Enema-em, methinks I have a keeper here!
Lynn, if you would change the thread’s title to “Enema-em, Humorless Turd Extrodinaire”, I’d be deeply grateful.
Probably because Prince is too busy being a parody of himself.
I’ll add that however much I might not be enthralled with Prince’s work, he earns my respect in one single way. From what I understand, Prince redirects a substantial amount of money into finding and developing new artists. That alone is enough to make me give him some grudging admiration.
Enema-em is a sulking little cretin whose work appeals to a sector of fandom that I would consider an insult to have admire me.
HEAR HEAR!
Let me get this straight – Eminem is bitching about Weird Al making a parody of one of his songs, which are, for the most part, just rehashed and sampled older songs by other groups, with Eminem rapping over them/between the chorus? (i.e., “Sing for the Moment,” the one getting the most radio play right now.)
Absolutely surreal.
i.e what else?
also, the chorus of that song is not sampled, Steven Tyler laid down new vocals.
In other news: Weird Al is definately staying hip and relevant in his satire. I wondered when Couch Potatoes were going to come in for a ribbing. I can’t wait until he finally gets around to poking fun at something from the 90s.
I don’t know, I’m not enough of a music buff to tell you which drum or guitar riff came from what rock song made back in the 80s, or whatever, but I listen to quite a bit of hiphop music, including Eminem, and I recognize stuff in it all the time. I actually like a lot of his music, I just think it’s kind of stupid that someone who works in a medium where borrowing stuff from other artists is the norm, would object to someone like Weird Al making a parody of his work. Especially when Weird Al clearly acknowledges the original artist, but the bits of sampled songs, drum beats and stuff are often little more than “Wait, haven’t I heard that before…?”
I mean, maybe Steve Tyler should have told Eminem that he couldn’t make a video for that song because it could tarnish Aerosmith’s reputation. It just doesn’t make any sense to me.
Don’t worry, Zenster, I don’t think the people that you appeal to are exactly Eminem’s target audience.
I am no Eminem fan but it seems that everybody that dislikes him attacks him for not being a “real musician”, ie. he doesn’t play an instrument or sing…well he does do something that strikes a chord with numerous people, who rightly or wrongly see him as an important artist…well then attacking him for not playing a real instrument or being a thug is as easy as attacking you for being pretentious…
The fact that Eminem shot down Weird Al’s request is no surprise given that he’s already roughed up a rubber dog puppet.
Well, there was “It’s All About The Pentiums”.
What about Gump and The Saga Begins?
Plus ‘Amish Paradise’, ‘Germs’ (which wasn’t a direct parody so far as I know, just a dig on Marilyn Manson), and ‘Jerry Springer’.
I’m glad this thread caused me to pop over to his website. New album in 10 days! Woohoo!
