Okay okay… yes I stand against Communism, blah blah blaah and all the other good old-fashioned arguments for the embargo.
BUT… (like you didn’t see that coming?)
I’m really REALLY tired of not being able to enjoy a nice Cuban cigar from time to time.
C’mon, I know there has to be some other aficionados on this board who’d like to see the ban lifted. Forget about all the pseudo-political reasons involved… imagine a nice box of Cuban Monte Cristo’s in your humidor!!
A short drive from Columbus to Windsor ought to suffice. You can legally bring back 25 cigars for personal use. I’ll warn you now though, they’re expensive.
Oops, I guess I’ll have to eat a little bit of crow. I am mistaken, Joe, you cannot legally bring Cuban cigars back to the U.S. from Canada or any third party county. I have been misinformed; I guess it’s just a good thing my cigars weren’t confiscated. Here’s a link to the text of a letter from the BATF which explicitly states that a U.S. citizen cannot import Cuban cigars from anywhere except Cuba.
I apologize and will now heartily endorse your effort to overthrow Mr. Castro.
