Now what to do? We drove all day until we decided it was time to stop. We’ve ignored road signs, logic, and just headed Southwest, so this is where we ended up, deciding we could go no further without checking every exit for a hotel. I have looked at all the travel websites for recommendations and my wife and I have decided that doing something in the hiking/nature/terrain appreciation is what is most appropriate. So, SDMB, do you have any experience in this area of the world? Preferably, there would be things to do within an 1-1.5 hrs of our current location. If no one knows of anything then we can just find a dive bar or rent paddle boats… Thanks!
Long story made short: I’ve been there too. Huddle House is a decent family restaurant, and whatever you do, don’t have a heart procedure done there. One of the doctors who does procedures there will one day be exposed as the medical serial killer that he is.
Good God, man. This looks like bat country.
You could go visit my great-grandmother’s grave. I’m sure that would be a party.
I can’t help with specific recommendations, but the Ozarks are full of little rivers that are great for float trips. I like the Current River or Jacks Fork River. I imagine the hotel staff could point you in the right direction.
You aren’t too far from Branson! County shtick at it’s best. Actually I like the place.
If you see my sister, tell her I said “hey”.
