Energy Savings: Walk-in Coolers?

Is it possible to retrofit a walk-in cooler or freezer with some cost-saving options? I am thinking of the types at convenience stores vs. a vault-like type found at a butcher, perhaps.

For example, can an old wooden door be retrofitted with a modern-type door? Can insulation be added to the interior wall surface (which is more accessible than the exterior wall surfaces)? Can a drop ceiling be added where one is lacking? …and insulation laid above the drop ceiling? Can a plastic curtain be added at the entryway?

Or, do all these options have to be spec’d out when the model unit is purchased?
In short, what options are there?

Yes you can add insulation. But you had better seal it properly or there is going to be troubles. Unless it was poorly maid I am not sure why. The plastic curtians would be an advantage.
