Surely not Unclebeer?

I think we should be told!

I said dredged up by a proto-neanderthal, not started by one.

Naw, I’m not a proto-anything. I’m the Mark II ready-for-the-consumer model. Prototype tesing has been completed. Behind schedule and over-budget, but completed nonetheless. This thread was dredged up by a troll/puppet earlier today, as were several others in this forum. Since no one had responded to him, I chose to delete his post without comment. This is my new policy, at the suggestion of Manhattan and Alphagene. They are doing the same.

So, if you see the obvious socks, just ignore 'em and I’ll be along shortly to clean up the scat they leave behind.

Glorified draftsman. My job title usually says “Engineer” but it embarasses me.

I’m a civil engineer. Work for a company that designs, manufactures, and installs (or any combination thereof) pollution control systems for storm drains. We may well have a few of Pluto’s D8s in our fleet, too.

Software Engineer by background, now dumbed down to management. I still code occasionally for fun.

I’m really surprised there aren’t more Software Engineers here. I assumed the place was crawling with 'em.

Not in my world. First, the term “Software Engineer” means a Coder (Software Development Engineer) or Tester (Software Test Engineer). What you describe is a Systems Engineer, a totally different breed. Also, I’m in a world filled with Software Engineers, and I don’t know one who doesn’t have a degree. (Except for me, I’m ashamed to say, but that’s another story.)

I’m a baby Chem E. (Just out of freshman year. Technically a junior, but only credit wise.)

I’m also going in for Philosophy, which should be fun as well.

So far its a blast!
