English Spelling and Grammar

“you friended a bunch of jerks” should be “you befriended a bunch of jerks”. And, yes, I would hate to be someone learning English as a second language—especially regarding spelling. I think poor spelling is due to carelessness more than low intelligence. I judge intelligence on content regardless of spelling. But then there are are people with doctorates and an IQ of 80. Go figure.

My question would be “why would you want to be friends with a bunch of jerks”? Heck with language… Our system of judging IQ is severly flawed and doesn’t take into consideration different types of intelligence and desires of people. I’ve always been ashamed of my intellect. I don’t associate well with most people and don’t desire to be limited with only speaking with people of my intellect. Too confining of parameters.

I disagree with your criticism. In context, the sentiment is that the person’s facebook friends may be jerks. The verb “to friend” means to establish a “friendship” connection on facebook. Thus, “you friended a bunch of jerks” means “your facebook friends may be jerks.”
