Enterprise in the UK

As you will have guessed by the number of threads Enterprise has already premiered in the US and other countries (And is already several episodes into the season). You may have heard that Sky One have bought the rights to Enterprise. That was announced several weeks ago.

I emailed Sky and asked them when they would be showing Enterprise, and almost a fortnight later this is their response.

So there you go. I used the feedback form on the Sky website and received an email from view relations ViewerR@bskyb.com

I’m posting this because I thought there might be some other UK folk interested.

If you’re interested in seeing Enterprise in the UK maybe you could email them and ask.

I imagine they’ll show it sooner or later. It’s a guaranteed ratings winner for them: just look how much Sky One schedule all the other Star Trek series’.

It’ll possibly be on once the new series of Stargate finishes, or once the current series of Dream Team finishes.

Sooner hopefully  I was just posting in case anyone was wondering and hadn’t got around to asking.
I’m not sure what the current schedule is on Sky One, you’re right though the Star Trek series’ have always been good for viewing figures.

Anyway an email campaign could be fun [sub]Evil laugh[/sub]

Sod 'em, if they want my viewing then they won’t get it.

I hate Sky, they buy up anything with high ratings to try to strip the main networks of decent programmes and hope that this will force you to pay more for their service.

Hard luck, you just waste your money, and if others took the same view they would pay less and see the same stuff.

I haven’t come across any decent shows wholly funded by Sky worth watching, they are just leeches, suck out the good stuff but never create anything themselves.

I’d have to agree, I don’t appreciate paying for a channel and having to watch 15 mins of adverts in every hour either, more than I do for ITV or channel 4 which are free channels.

But I am interested to see the new Star Trek and some of the channels do have decent programmes on, although mostly not.

My parents are paying for it at the moment (I am still living with them). When I move out I will probably get cable TV, which includes several channels as part of the standard phone line rental (£9.50 + VAT for phone line & digital TV)

That bit about the 15 minutes of ads per hour got a wry smile from me.

At the moment I’m on cable and alnog with the high bandwidth internet connection and cheap phone line there is a tv package.
If I could do away with the tv and instead recieve it off air I would save myself a few quid a month but they don’t give you that option.

Anyhoo, I went for the most basic tv set up, just Beebs 1 2 News24 Beeb knowledge, the regualr ITV stuff and 24hour itn news.

They have just done a trial offer which enabled me to get a lot more channels, the idea being to tempt me into paying for them when it ends.
All I can say is that this free trial has convinced me more than ever to stick with what I had, and the reason is all those bleedin’ ads, Jeez! You can’t even channel hop to escape them as they put them on across all the pay up channels at the same time.

I’m amazed that folk would pay good cash for 5 minute and more ad breaks, with maybe ten minutes of tv program between.
