I suggest the mods move the thread in question to Marketplace, or better yet The Barn House. That way those forums get some traffic and the snarkers won’t have to see the minutia that passes for topics in Cafe Society.
Perhaps we can come up with some kind of marker for threads they are participating in so the rest of us know where they are. Perhaps a Scarlet N tag at the beginning of the thread title.
Honey PMed me about a week ago saying that she and some other posters at another board were looking for a new online home for snarking about the shopping channels, could they come here?
I said yes, of course, and apparently they have – and they’re completely welcome. We need more new members, not fewer.
No, I didn’t go into the thread to proffer an official SDMB greeting – frankly, it didn’t occur to me to, I generally don’t. When I posted in the thread for the first time a few minutes ago, in response to a flurry of reports about people using the “C” word," I welcomed them, reminded them they’re subject to both board rules and board culture, and told them I hoped they’d find other threads to participate in.
As twickster said, they are more than welcome here and we are glad to have them as new members.
I would also think that members of some sort of snark forum would recognize the joking nature of the negative “welcoming” comments in this thread. 
Just one thing that I think needs to be said, though. While a little venting about their former board is probably ok, we don’t want to encourage board wars, so make sure it doesn’t rise to the level of that.
Otherwise, snark away! And welcome to the SDMB!

Somewhere, somehow, somebody must have kicked them around some.
Maybe those people should have gold stars by their names. Just so we know them because sometimes they look like normal posters.
Point being, they decided they didn’t have to live like that.
Now, it don’t make no difference to me. Everybody has to fight to be free.

Most is good. Better than a lot of us got. But remember; you really aren’t totally a part of the SDMB until you get your first “cite?” post/reply.

This exact sort of thing has happened many many times on other boards/forums.
Maybe they were kidnapped, tied up, taken away and held for ransom.

They should all be banned. I’ll think of some reason why later.
Not exactly. But there have been a couple of occasions where people from this board started fights with other boards. A handful of posters from the SDMB would go to another message board and start posting negative messages there - and would identify themselves as members of the SDMB.
The natural response would be some members of the other board would come here and start posting negative messages. Which would be the first time the majority of us would find out what was happening.
For obvious reasons, the administration of this board strongly discourages this type of activity.
