Chuny was on the previous ep, I think. Anyway, she’s still around.
I came to SDMB CS just to gripe about Haleh being gone. Oh noes! But she had been on a long time, & if the actress wanted to leave, at least they gave her a send-off episode (however admittedly sudden) rather than just writing her out “offscreen.”
I watched this week’s, then watched the previous ep, which I’d taped & not got around to yet. I like the way Leguizamo’s character mocks the outdated look of the County ED.
Didn’t “know” and didn’t ASK. Even if he didn’t know he’s still resposible for statutory rape, she was 14 years old! I pretty sure having sex with a minor with or without consent is against the law. (anyone? anyone??)
Not meaning to turn this into anything more than an admission of a misunderstanding, but when you said “child abuser doc”, I was thinking more of a doc slugging a kid in the mouth or something, not sleeping with a 14 year old. Therein lay my confusion.
Is this even possibly in real life? If I took tonnes of overtime on the ward I work on my boss’d probably be over the moon. Hell, I’m doing it at the moment, I’m pretty much working through November without a break.
Yes, I think this is possible. After my surgery last April, I commented to one of the nurses how happy, friendly and totally together all the nurses were. She replied that it was becuase they weren’t overworked. Apparently, the hospital I was in had a max of 48 hours per week for all nurses. And 48 was a luxury. They are usually only allowed 40.
However, I was on some pretty strong drugs so I may have imagined the whole conversation - but I don’t think so.
I get the concept of not overworking people, just not the one of forcing your way on to a ward, demanding a patient load, getting it, and then getting fired after.
If I’m not rostered on or asked to come in it’s pretty hard to work!
