With twice as many Democrats in the race as Republicans and California’s stupid top-two nonpartisan primary it is quite likely in the general election voters will get to vote for the Republican of their choice.
Swalwell was my congressman. Until last week I respected him enormously. You have no idea how sad this makes me.
I just don’t understand why these skeevy powerful men just can’t keep their dicks in their pants. I thought I liked this guy. He said all the right things and seemed like a solid liberal if not progressive enough for my taste. And now this, and they all knew. I’m so disgusted.

Willis was in a normal romantic relationship with another consenting adult. They had been in the relationship before the two of them were potentially linked by the Trump case.
Swalwell (who, unlike Willis, was married at the time) sexually abused and emotionally bullied multiple women among his office staff over several years.
Willis faced a minor conflict of interest. Swalwell is accused of multiple crimes, as are many other male politicians. The two are not comparable in this instance.

Not comparable. Swalwell has been credibly accuse of rape by more than one woman, and was known to have sexually harassed, abused, others. He was known to groom his young staff. That is not a “lack of judgement.” That is predatory behavior.

Yeah, one can really see how it’s upsetting and people would say “f—k them all they’re all the same”. But this ought to indeed remind us, yes it IS possible for us the relatively well informed general public, to just not know.
As to insiders… “They all knew”, well, yes, though I’d take it mostly in the sense of knowing something was up that was not good. But the more damning details were probably known for a fact only to very few, and not much you can do w/o the actual victims coming forward.
There will be a special election on August 18th, which, considering that it’s a safe blue district, means it’s pretty much a lock that whoever wins that race will be reelected in November.

I know how you feel. Bob Filner used to be my congressman and I was deeply inspired the time I met him at a town hall.
And Lonna Drewes is represented by Lisa Bloom, who’s a rather prominent attorney for these sorts of cases. She represented several of the women that caused Bill O’Reilly’s firing from Fox, and women who have accused Donald Trump of sexual misconduct.
Unrelated, but she’s also the daughter of Gloria Allred, and I used to watch Bloom’s show on TruTV.
I noticed Faux is really jumping on this, while nary a word about Gonzalez. They’re both degenerates and deserve equal scorn.
