This reminds me of the time my daughter and I were standing in the checkout line of a small grocery store with a squeaky conveyer belt. We tried to talk to the cashier about how the enslaved treadmill ducks were complaining and had she no feelings for the suffering of waterfowl condemned to labor in darkness? But she just gave us a blank humorless stare. It was a saddening experience.
